What a party!

Today was Jeremiah's online birthday party! Although a little odd to "broadcast" his birthday and be the only ones home it was still nice for family and friends to see him open his gifts and nicely eat his cake!

It's crazy to think how far we have come in this past year. After almost dying from birth, packing up and moving to a new state miles upon miles from family and friends and starting life new here, along with becoming a stay at home mommy and wife. It amazes me how far we have truly come!

Commitment

As I sit waiting to see my Dr on base because I may possibly have strep I wonder so many things.

First is about commitment. As a miltary spouse we have to commit to not just marriage but to this life as a spouse. Knowing we will always come second to the military as if we are the "other women".

It is a proven fact that military marriages have harder times than civilian marriages. So what keeps us going? What makes a military marriage work? Maybe its a spouse that can do well with long distance relationships? Or maybe being both a mom and a dad during deployments and stepping back when the deployment is over so everyone can get back to "normal".

What about the kids? How do they stay so strong, have so much courage and deal with so much time without that parent?

Commitment to a life that has so many sharp turns, harsh decisions, and loss. It's hard to think that someone would choose this life over civilian life. I honestly believe we are crazy. Crazy in love with our soldiers so much that we can't live without them in our lives.

B is for Birthday and Braces

Jeremiah just celebrated his first birthday!!! We were at a family retreat this weekend and celebrated with everyone there. A big beautiful cake and party favors where handed out. This weekend will be his online party for family and friends back home.

Jeremiah now has 4 top and 4 bottom teeth. All of which are already crowded. All I can think of is braces, braces and more braces. Brad was and still is in the same situation. We will be bringing him to the dentist next year(my dentist doesn't feel its needed till he's at least 2). Hopefully we will be able to get some good answers to correct this problem!

Jeremiah and Bun-bun have become the best of friends. When we were at the hotel this weekend he wouldn't leave her and ever since she goes with him to play and brush teeth and cuddle and read before bed. And of course she goes to bed with Jeremiah.

God has been blessing us left and right. Even though some may not think that peace is a blessing it is to me. He has given me peace about issues that have effected me for years. Which in turn has helped our marriage greatly.

I'm off to go and play with Jeremiah I pray that the Lord gives you peace in your life also!

A HOUSE?

Brad puts on Staff in a couple of weeks! We are thrilled! YAY!!

We move out of this place, we can call it an apartment but I would rather not. And when we do we have a decision to make!

BUY a home 

 OR 

RENT a home

There are A LOT of great places around here to rent!
I even found some in our range with pools, parks, REAL grass lawns(They have plastic lawns here! Oh I know so weird...) Great things with renting!

But...

We could always find a beautiful home to live in for at least the next couple of years and if and when we move we could rent it out and have one of the rental companies care for it for a percentage of the rent!

So many decisions!!



Jeremiah still refuses to walk or stand by himself. If you hold his hands ever so lightly he will take steps or just stand there but if you let go...
                   down...
                           he...
                              goes...
                                                                                            

I have been looking for a part time job. Just to get me out of the apartment and bring in a little extra money to save and so on. Nothing so far but I feel God working in that part of my life. I'm letting go and letting him take control. Please pray I find something rewarding.
 We will soon see.

Jeremiah will be ONE next month! I can't believe how quickly this first year went by! I can't imagine working this first year. I feel for all of those mothers out there who have to leave their infants at home and have to miss those milestones.

We are still trying to get used to this area. Still trying to meet people, and get out. It's hard starting over with a baby. I wish we lived on base for that reason.

I am down to my pre-pregnancy weight and now it's time for toning! Brad is going to kick my butt these next couple months! Tomorrow I start some crazy exercises to get me healthy and back to my goal size! So excited but also very nervous!

Staff Sargent Select

In the last couple of months we have experienced a lot!

Update on the kiddo:
     Jeremiah is now assisted walking. Another wards he is using our couches, chairs, playpen, toys or anything else that he can grab onto as a walker. And his little walker that we go him he flips it over and does nothing else. Oh well.
     He is also eating everything! What a little piggy! I love him so much though and watching him grow is just crazy! Along with eating and trying to walk(almost there I give him a couple weeks) he is also talking! He says moma, dada, baba and what we think to be "go make me some food" blabeeebaaa...

Update on Mr Bradley:
     HE MADE STAFF!!! He didn't think he would but I'm just so proud of him!!!

And he got a "new" car!!!

Summer?

Well it's the middle of May! And in most parts of the United States spring/summer has arrived. I've enjoyed seeing everyone's photos of the beach, flowers, sun dresses and so on.
But here in Las Vegas... well it's been drery and cold and rainy. I LOVE IT!!!
Maybe some moisture will get into the air and I can stop having bloody noses!!!

Anyways! Update with Mr Jerm...

He's sitting up, eating food like a pro and growling at everyone! And today he attempted to crawl and kinda did! So proud of my little gummy bear!
I fell asleep with him on his couch tonight. It was so sweet!


We finally found some drapes. They are going up tomorrow, they are in the washer(I hate that store smell)
I am going to be making some valences to go with them also. One less project to worry about.

Well I'm finally tired! Off to bed!!!

A Tooth

"It helps with the pain"

 Well Jeremiah has been teething for some time... and about a week ago his first tooth popped through! So cute! He won't let us take a photo yet because the other is still breaking way but he has his momma's pain tolerance for sure! He has not really needed anything. We have given him small amounts of Tylenol and Orajel but that is it.
So proud of our chunker!!

Our little man was dedicated last Sunday the 1st of May at church! We almost didn't make it because we forgot to get gas the night before but it was lovely! So happy to be apart of this church family and we can't wait to get to know more people and try to make Nevada more of a home than a prison.

He's teething.. and not happy about it.

So tomorrow is Saturday, and Brad, Jeremiah, Myself and the pups are going to the park!! Then we are going to go sample some wine at a local wine store after a quick shopping trip. Hopefully its not too hot. If it is we may just stay home, so hopefully not! Sunday is mother's day and we hope that all our cards get to everyone in a timely manor aka tomorrow!

 Yeah so I definitely was having some problems with tonight's blog involving the photos but anywho enjoy the ones that I was able to get up on the blog. I'm going to make a video of some of his videos to put on here its just taking a lot longer than anticipated.
